Essential Oils and their Benefits

There are a number of reasons why you should see a podiatrist, so between appointments is the critical period for you. You need to keep the health of your feet safe to make sure minor issues don’t become major problems. One such method towards maintaining healthiness of the foot is through simple yet effective essential oils, and below, a few will be demonstrated regarding their benefits in foot health.

Weekly Foot Bath

Some might think that a foot bath is entirely necessary, as they get washed and treated in any routine baths anyway. However, proper care requires proper attention, and a foot bath can exfoliate the dead skin, eliminate fungus around your toenails, as well as allow you to assess your feet and look for any potential problems you might have missed. Epsom salt, lemon oil, and tea tree oils are ideal for relaxing your feet. The Epsom salt is for try skin, whereas the tea tree and lemon oil are for removing fungus in or around your toenails.

Foot Scrub

Foot scrubs requires that you give your feet special attention so that any dead or dry skin is removed or properly treated. This means using an essential oil that you can use to scrub on your feet, such as coconut oil, salt or sugar, as well as the lemon salt mentioned earlier. The lemon slat contains valuable citrus, while coconut oil moisturizes your skin, mitigating any dryness. Vanilla or lavender are similarly effective substitutes for lemon oil as well. Lastly, the dead skin can be exfoliated with sugar or salt. These foot scrubs should be kept cold and dry for later use, such as in a refrigerated environment.

Foot Cream

Now that the feet have been treated, the skin is soft, and cracks and dry skins are removed, the next step is to make sure they stay that way. For that, foot cream is the way to go. Ideally, putting this cream on your feet before bed is the best method. Coconut oil or shea butter is excellent as a base for your foot cream, though the most crucial aspect for this cream is the mix to go along with them that is specifically for treating the dry skin, and the longevity of the softness of the foot. For this, frankincense, made from the resin of a Boswellia tree, is the ideal choice. Adding a few drops to your base can create an excellent moisturising lotion mix.

These are just a few examples, and we here at Happy Feet Happy Mind Ltd are proud to ensure that there is a lot more options for you to treat your feet right!
